When I was little, there was a friend who was amazing at cat’s cradle. I envied her, and I wanted to be an expert in it too. I practised a lot, but it was too hard for a nine-year-old girl.
Recently, I watched a new music video of a Japanese singer, and reminded me of my childhood story. I wanted to make my childhood wish come true. I was practising a cat’s cradle and suddenly got attracted by all the shapes that have been made of it. Although I couldn’t my wish, ‘I want to do cat’s cradle in expert’, being a happy adult enjoying that, the young girl could achieve her dream in another way.
Through these four fabrics that I made; I hope people will also think about the wishes that they made to me when they were young.

어릴 적, 실뜨기를 잘하는 친구가 있었고,나는 그 친구가 매우 부러웠었다.
나도 잘하고 싶어 열심히 연습했지만, 9살 소녀에게 무언가를 잘하게 된다는 것은 매우 어려운 일이었다.
어른이 된 나는 어릴 적의 내 소원을 들어주고 싶었다. 실뜨기를 연습하고, 내가 만든 모든 모양에 매료되기 시작되었다. 비록 ‘잘 하고 싶다’의 소원은 들어주지 못했지만, 잘하지 못하더라도 즐기는 행복한 어른이 됨으로써 소녀의 꿈은 다른 방향으로 이루어졌다.
사람들이 이 작품을 보며 어렸을 적의 소원, 그리고 꿈을 떠올렸으면 하는 바람이다.
